Skyline Middle School

A Proud History of Excellence in Education since 1966

Welcome from the Principal

Welcome to our Skyline Website!  We hope you will find everything you are looking for on our links.  We are extremely proud of our students, staff, and facility, and welcome you to peruse the site to see for yourself the exciting academic and extra-curricular activities we have at Skyline.

Each grade is divided into two teams with four teachers for the core subjects: English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies.  We follow the state accepted curriculum and provide stimulating instruction to meet the needs of all students.  We have a rigorous math program that provides Algebra II to our 8th graders if they are ready.  We have an Honors ELA program for our top Readers and Writers.  We also have special help classes for student who struggle and we work hard to assure that everyone meets or exceeds the standards.

During the day, students also have two “Exploratory” classes such as Art, Music, Computers, Career Education and Physical Educations.  These classes provide an opportunity to discover strengths and interests in fields that may someday become a career or a hobby.  Our band and chorus take trips each year to compete in national arenas.

We also have an extensive after school program with sports and clubs to meet everyone’s interests.  To name just a few, we have a Stock Market Club, Solar Car Club, Student Council, Book Club, Yearbook Club, Newspaper Club, and the “Crew.”  We have Field Hockey, Volleyball, Basketball, Track, Wrestling, and Soccer.  Each season we have Intramural Sports (school teams that play each other for fun) and Interscholastic Sports (where Skyline teams play other middle schools).  We are proud of our many championships and trophies!  We also compete in academic competitions such as Odyssey of the Mind, Science Olympiad, Math Leagues, and Numerix Bee, Geography Bee, and the Spelling Bee.  Again, we have the honor of winning many top places every year!  And every spring we have a Drama Production that involves as many as 200 students!

Thank you for your interest in Skyline and please feel free to contact us for more information.

Sincerely,

Ms. Basara
