Administrative Staff:

Mrs. Basara—Principal
Ms. Basara has been the principal of Skyline Middle School since 2006.  In 2001, she came to Skyline as an assistant principal.  Previously, Ms. Basara was a teacher at Brandywine Springs, Forest Oak, Conrad, and Oak Grove.  She taught 5th through 9th grade reading, writing, math, social studies, science, and special education over her 25 year career.  Ms. Basara received her Bachelor’s degree from University of Delaware, Master’s degree from Widener University, and her Administrative Certification from Wilmington University.  These experiences along with her professional education have built a solid background for her current role at Skyline. 

Mr. Rumford—Assistant Principal
Mr. Rumford was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware.  Attended Concord High School and received a B.S. in Health and Physical Education from West Chester State College.  He earned a master degree from Wilmington College in Leadership and Instruction in 1997.  Mr. Rumford has been a teacher/administrator for over twenty-five years.  He has coached high school and youth baseball for over twenty years.

Mr. Tucker—Student Advisor
Mr. Tucker began teaching in the School District of Philadelphia. He came to Delaware and has been working at Skyline since 2004 first as a Physical Education teacher then as the Student Advisor. Mr. Tucker is the Co-Athletic Director at Skyline and an assistant coach with the boys’ basketball team. He has coached many levels of a variety of sports. Mr. Tucker Has a B.S. in Health and Physical Education. He is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership.  

Support Staff:

Mrs. K. Basara—Guidance Counselor
Mrs. K. Basara received her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from University of Delaware and Master’s degree in School Counseling from Wilmington University.  Mrs. Basara started at Skyline as the guidance counselor in 2005. She enjoys working with the Skyline Community.

Mrs. Root—School Nurse
Mrs. Root is the School Nurse at Skyline. She previously was the school nurse at St. Elizabeth’s School and also worked at DuPont Hospital for Children ER. She enjoys school nursing very much. Call her with any health questions or concerns about your child.

Mrs. McGuigan—School Psychologist
Mrs. McGuigan graduated in 2001 from Saint Joseph’s University with a BS degree in Psychology, then attended Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) for two years and received a Masters degree in Clinical Health and Counseling Psychology.  She then attended Immaculata University for two years and received a School Psychology Certification.  She began working at Skyline in 2005.  She also works at the First State School and is the district Childfind psychologist as well. She enjoys working with the Skyline students, families, and staff!

Mrs. Falgowski—Educational Diagnostician
Mrs. Falgowski has been at Skyline since 1994 as both a Special Education teacher and an Educational Diagnostician.  Mrs. Falgowski received her BS degree in Special Education from the University of Delaware.  Some of Mrs. Falgowski’s duties are:  Co-Athletic Director, Head Girls Field Hockey Coach and Assistant Girls Basketball Coach.  She has enjoyed working with staff and students at Skyline.
